The Culley’s Tearooms started as one of Perth’s first milk bars located on Stirling Highway in Cottesloe, Edward and Alice Culley were looking for a larger premise. In a chance meeting on a train trip to Fremantle Mr and Mrs Culley met Mr and Mrs Abbot who wanted to sell their confectionary shop at 116 High Street Fremantle. By the time the train reached the station, an agreement had been reached and so with a good old-fashioned handshake there began our story and our almost 100-year association with Fremantle.
The Culley’s story has been running for four generations. Dick and Ted took over from Edward and Alice, Darrell Culley and Bob Wegner continued the tradition, today the Culley’s business in the hands of Michael Culley and Melissa Culley.
